What's new

Approximate age of this razor?

I just realised this is a microtome. So will I have trouble honing it?

Ok. Thought it was a 'normal' razor with a different design, but it was probably used to cut up flesh?!? :w00t: ***?

I have heard of, but never seen one of these razors, did it say it was this kind of razor in the desription?

I`m pretty sure I have a coffin box for that razor.

Do you want to sell it?

I'll bet it holds an edge from hell

It probably does. I'm starting to get the hang of honing normal razors, I bet it's a nightmare to hone this one.

Yeah it was in the description.

It's kind of gross though. To think that maybe it cut some old bloke's *** cheek off, or something equally horrible.

From a Sheffield history forum it says that Rodgers company's trade mark was a star and cross. The England mark helps to narrow it down to 1891 or thereafter.

Here is a link to the history of Joseph Rodgers and Sons.

I got a joeseph and rodgers with the star and cross, and the star and cross is on the box as well, have yet to hone or clean it though, so cant comment if its a good shaver or not.

Want to do a straight swap for my flesh cutter? :001_rolle

If I ever need a razor like that, I will jump on the m4, hone it up and report back ;)

LOL. You would have to do the FCT (flesh cut test) instead of the HHT though :w00t:

Hmm, I`ll let you know, as I was kinda looking for the razor that went with it.

Ah, I see :001_smile
