This place is pretty local to me(maybe 25 min drive)Besides the feather would you recommend any of their other straight razors for a someone who has never used a straight before?

The two straight razors they sell, the Fromm and C-Mon, are not generally considered a good value for the money. Plus they don't come shave-ready. I think you could do better in the BST. That said, the site has a lot of nice products: Illinois strop, Arkansas hone, Omega brushes, Williams for $0.99. I would shop there for everything except the razor, although I don't have any experience with the hone.

Waht do you mean by C-Mon is not good for the money? The fit and finish or how it shaves? For the money I am guessing its the quality of the steel, but then again the Gold dollars are cheaper and they shave pretty nicely.

I have heard that same about the non-vintage c-mons. YMMV.
