AOS v. the 3 T's

Like many people, I began wetshaving with AOS products years ago, off and on. Pre-shave oil, sandalwood cream and sandalwood after shave balm, and a fine badger brush, but still using a cartridge.

When I started truly wetshaving earlier this year with a DE, I was under the impression that the 3 T's creams and balms were miles better than AOS products. One friend even said "If ain't English, I ain't using it." I've since bought a tub of GFT's sandalwood, a tube of Proraso, and samples of all 3 T's. I even gave my 3/4 full tub of AOS sandalwood to my brother.

However, now I'm reading on this board that a lot of people love AOS, even prefer it to the 3 T's. I do find myself missing the scent and lasting-ness of the AOS after shave balm. I currently have GTF sandalwood skin food, and I like it, but the scent doesn't last.

Who am I to believe as to which product reigns supreme?

There is only one person you need to believe and that's YOU!

What works for you may only work for you and nobody else on the entire forum but it doesn't make it wrong or invalid.

Use what works for you period - "F" what everyone else says!

The only T that matters is tallow. And there's only one T soap I know of with tallow. But I like AoS soap more. That and the wool fat. But the T soap's not far behind.

YMMV, of course. :001_smile

Firsr, believe your face feedback. Secondly, AOS sells excellent Italian made tallow soap( though overpriced) which is on par with the English tallows that I also use. The other shave products are also good but overpriced for the value.

I find the AOS products to be good, and the scents are first class.

I think I might prefer T&H over AoS, and for value, I don't think I can go without having a tube of proraso around almost 100% of the time!
