AOS Unscented or Proraso(white tub)

Alright I think I have narrowed my soap choice down to two. I have read the reviews section on both of these and talked with a few retailers and they seem to be the only two that won't put excess oil on my face. I am worried about the scent and oil because I have oily skin to begin with that is prone to acne. I know that AOS is more expensive, but it seems to leave a face dryer after shaving. Between these two does anyone have an opinion? Thanks.

I prefer AOS unscented, which I think is one of the best soaps I've ever used. The Proraso in the white tub performed very well, but I just didn't care for the smell.

I did a little more research and AOS is made from glycerin which is know to fight acne and help clear it up...however I cant find anything on Proraso's chemical makeup other then what causes it to have a cooling sensation.

I haven't tried either but both are reviewed favorably. Proraso is certainly cheaper if that helps you decide.

Honestly, if you have oiler skin, maybe the Proraso green tube/tub would be better for you than the white, which I think is for dry, sensitive skin. And maybe consider AOS lemon as well?

I am leaning towards the AOS unscented just because I am already on a skin care regiment for oily skin and if i do the lemon then it may make my skin too dry and I am a little concerned about any fragerance making my face break out with pimples. As it is I can only use dove white soap because scented body soaps make me break out.

If you are worried about fragrance, I'd definitely go with the AOS over the Proraso. It's definitely the least irritating soap I've used. (I have not tried the other AOS soaps. Yet.) The AOS is obviously more expensive, but it's going to last a long time so the difference is not that dramatic.

Awesome thanks for the quick responses...you have confirmed my thought pattern

I think you'll be happy with it. In the interest of full disclosure, however, I should note that my general problem is not acne, but rather dry skin. Still, I do have one or two spots that break out and they respond well to the AOS.

AOS is a tallow soap, it may have some glycerin in it, but not much. I wouldn't let that be the selling point. The AOS website doesn't even mention that this is a tallow based soap, but it is.

Proraso White will have glycerin in it too, but it is not tallow based. This soap performs more like a cream in all honesty.

Both great soaps, but if you want to experience a true shaving soap then go with AOS.
