Anyone use Queen Charlotte Soaps?

First off, I am a big fan of MWF & Mike's natural soaps. Both offer great shaves. However, in the endless pursuit to spend an infinite amount of money on WS I have been looking into picking up some QCS. Anyone use them before? I see their ingredients are very similar to Mike's. Any suggestions for scents I can throw into the sampler pack? Thanks gentlemen!

Yup. I've been thru a few containers and a sample pack.

They are fantastic. Both the soaps and cream (soft soap basically) ou can't go wrong.

Scents are subjective and none stand out as ones you must try, unless they'll make BRIAR for you. It was a ltd Ed last year and is Cherry Tobacco and is my favorite of any I've tried or smelled

QCS is heavily raved about on the board. It, and Tabac are my baseline soaps that I compare everything else against. QCS is simply wonderful stuff!!

As for scent recommendations: Lavender, Rose, Green Irish Tweed Type, and if you like menthol cooling Vostok is one of the coldest products on the market; so cold it may even bring tears to your eyes.

The shaving cream is really a soft soap by the way, and both the shaving cream, and shaving soap are equally great products.

Ah yes. vostok is one you should sample at least once. And it brought terms to my eyes, it was too cold for my face but fun to try a few times

A vote for the Key Lime, nice dry lime scent, not sweet...if you do go for the samples, I strongly recommend you decant them into larger containers. While you can sort of load from the sample container, you will be much happier with the cream or soap in a larger container.

So far still my favorite creams!

Thanks I have been looking for a metholated product for a while. Can't wait to try them out.

QCS are my favorite. I have tried every scent QCS makes with the exception of Rose Otto. Soap or cream, they are great. Enjoy.

Fantastic products. I've only had the pleasure of using the cream and not the hard soap, but it is really awesome.

I will say though, that the shortcomings of this product are the scents and the price. The scents are hit or miss and there are several products out there that perform just as well, if not better, for much less money.

That being said, I really enjoy a shave with QCS.

Awesome products! I love the Green Irish Tweed. Getting to tweedy time (fall/winter)!

I have not tried Mike's, but the QCS ingredient list is more or less the same as for Mystic Water, also highly thought of by many. If the ingredients are also similar to Mike's, you'll likely like the QCS.

I'd also like to know which products are the same performance for "much less" money? If you are in fact referring to Mike's and MW, they may be a couple bucks cheaper but close after all is said and done with shippping etc.

Never tried Mike's but MW is similar performance. I find QCS to be less finicky and scuttle friendly (which MW is not, can't take the heat)

RazoRock and Mike's were the first 2 that came to mind.

I'll gladly take 3 tubs of the La Famiglia series or a tin and a bar of Mike's for the same price as one tub of QCS.

Yeah, you have to factor in shipping, but that applies to all parties. Not to mention, the last time I ordered directly from QCS and not from another member, the shipping charges were all kinds of jacked up. Granted, that was ages ago when his business was just taking off and to my knowledge he has addressed the issue.

I'll also add that the term "much less" is pretty subjective when we're only talking about something that costs $16-18 bucks to begin with. Perhaps I could have worded that sentence a bit better. But when we're comparing a product that costs $16 to a product that costs $8-10, a "couple bucks" is quite literally half off.

I enjoy QCS very much and will always have a few scents at hand. My two favorites are Basilica and Sandalwood.

I'd guess he's referring to QCS, I love the QCS Tub Creams more than the soap, only because the scents seem to be stronger. Since Fall & Winter are approaching, I'd recommend the Celestial Woods if you like a Woody scent laced with Pine notes, Basilica is a very deep Frankincense & Myrrh, which if you're Catholic, will remind you of Church. For something off the beaten path, Cordovan is a good "leather" & one of my favorites.

Only tried the Cayman hard soap. Love the smell and it performs great. I also agree it is scuttle friendly (for a tallow/lanolin soap)

I use the hard soap and creams. i really like GIT, Celestial woods, Mysore sandalwood, and lime. But my favorite is a custom Lemon/Rose that they made for me. No doubt about it QCS is top notch stuff, especially their aftershave balms.

I love the soaps and the creams from QCS. And I'm agreed on the balms too, for my face the best I've ever tried.

QCS soaps are my top performers! There is only one scent I did not like. My favorite is Rose Otto, followed closely by Basilica and Provence. Celestial Woods is a great winter woodsy scent and GIT is fantastic! The best part of the soaps is how they leave my face and head feeling after the shave. The only way I can describe it is buttery soft. Do check out their balms, I have been using the bottle I got for two months straight, and I still have more than half a bottle. I head shave, so that means I use at least twice as much as a face shaver. Great stuff, when I finally ordered some I wondered why I had waited so long.

I got a sampler of both the creams and the soaps. I have tried one of each, the Esquire cream and Vetiver soap. I am still new to shaving and haven't tried a whole lot of other products but QCS is a definite high quality product in my book. The scents that I have tried are both very pleasing to myself and the wife and the lather is very protective allowing the razor to easily glide over the skin. It is on par pricewise with some of the more expensive shave soaps, but I think it competes well in that arena too! I don't use any scents as an aftershave but the QCS products leave a nice mellow scent that my wife can still detect after I get home from work, a good twelve hours after I have shaved.
