Anyone use a kriss kross for SE blades?

I have seen a couple of Kriss Kross blade strops in a couple antique stores recently. One even had what I think was an SE razor holder with it. I passed on both, but they left me wondering. I've read where the new DE blades can't be used in one of these, but what about SE blades? Does anyone use one? I have the Walgreen's Gem blades right now, and I was wondering if I could get more life out of them with one of these.

Here is a link to a thread with a picture of the kind I saw. http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=108937&highlight=kriss+kross

Providing the leather disc in it is in good shape, yes, it'll work on the thicker SE blades. I use mine on SE blades. The problem with the KK stroppers is that the leather disc is in bad shape or so dry and brittle from all the years of not having any attention. I was lucky in that mine was pretty much NOS condition so the lather from the soap keeps my leather in good condition. I don't know how to recondition leather but there are plenty strop/leather masters here that can guide you... and me.

Thanks for the answer. Now for the leather guys to chime in. How would I prep/condition the leather strop inside? What would I use?

Not familiar with the KK leather, but it really depends on the condition of the leather. It may be dry rotted and unusable or it might just need some saddle soap.

Um, what do these guys know about shaving?
