VDH Deluxe and Haslinger sage right now. I'm still in the trying things phase, but I don't see either one of these going away. That makes for a rather inexpensive base to come back to after experimentation.
If you find that one soap that brings you the shave you want and enjoy that is great. I will be honest and say that part of the enjoyment of this whole DE shaving is trying all the different shave soaps and creams. I am pretty sure that if I ever do find that one shave soap and stop trying any others than my days of coming to B&B would probably end as I would feel like the journey was over.
I hate to admit it but I find myself reaching for my Arko.. Took 4 sticks and mashed them into a glass dish.... I like it... better... than MWF or Tabac.....
They are all so good that I use a different one each day

I think this is how it works for most guys here. Of course those who consider shaving to be their hobby will continue with their "dens" and substantial inventories of brushes and aftershaves, etc. But the average bloke like me will experiment for awhile and settle down.
The experimentation is fun tho!
There's too much to explore for there to be only one.
I've been seeing if I can 3017 Mystic Waters Maestrale, but even though I love it, after 2 weeks I've got a real itch to try something different. Coconut Lime Verbena or the QCS Fougere. La Toja, Lea and Arko looking tempting.
QCS Iced Key Lime will probably win me over by the time I shave.

I have 3 soaps, Proraso green, MWF and Cade, I might get it down to two but not sure which one I won't be replace. These 3 perform very similar to me and it comes down to which scent I'm craving for the day.
I have a 5 soaps in my main rotation and a shave gel I use when I am in a super rush but I am always trying new stuff to try to get in the top 5.
I'm currently going with the idea of using one soap until it's gone so I can get through all the containers in my closet.
Right now I'm on Cella. It takes forever to get through a tub of that stuff.

Mostly Mitchell's Wool Fat, although I have some Col. Conk and Mystic Water soaps that I need to use up.
Yup, MDC. Don't assume that topics that aren't popular don't exist. People certainly use one soap or one DE or one brush despite the popularity of the various AD threads.
However, reading recent threads on MDC clones and what others think are similar soaps, I'll probably be trying those next. As it is, I already occasionally select a soap that I haven't tried.

Way to many that I like. Even the lowly Williams has its place. I intend someday to limit myself to a half dozen or so Italian soaps. But then there is the Provence Sante line....so it goes.
Art of Shaving hard soap was my one, but they done messed it all up.
This is my year of Harris- I am planning on using a puck of each of their 5 fragrances. Started with Almond, then Windsor and currently working on Lavender.
I have plenty of other soaps in the cabinet, but I use them one puck after the other...

I used one soap for about a year and then I started frequenting these boards again. Now I have at least a dozen and more samples than I care to think about. Every time someone mentions a new soap I feel a strong urge to buy it. You guys are killing me.
I use either Arko or Dr. Dittmar.
