Anyone on Fred Miranda forum?

Hi guys,

Just wondering who here is on the Fred Miranda forum. I am, same username: skarkowtsky. Just wondering who, if any, are crossing paths.

John

I only go there if I am selling or looking to purchase something. You will not find better prices on hardly used gear than FM. Most members there think the gear will help them shoot better and are constantly upgrading hardly used stuff to the latest and greatest. Fantastic photography marketplace.

Definitely is the place to shop. I've bought and sold there. Though, I sell for friends (they don't have accounts).

Where have I heard something like this before... hummm... I'm going to have to think about that $smiley_ROFLMAO.gif

I'm on there mainly for the reading, I don't really post. Same user name. I get lots of ideas for composing similar shots from the galleries as well.

I've tried to get on that forum dozens of times. I'm registered, but it won't let me log in (says my password is incorrect, but my username-email is registered), and it won't send me an email to let me change my password. I finally gave up. I really only wanted to look at the for sale stuff.

I've thought that would be cool as well on here. We have enough pros around here to offer real advice on the assignments. Also, I like the community and people here much better!

I'm hoping my new 50 f/1.8D shows up tomorrow so I can spend my day off on Wednesday shooting for the March contest! Weekly assignments would be a great way to get me out and about to shoot more and learn.

Check your spam/junk mail folder. Many ISPs and hosting mail servers will intercept the "lost password" email as spam and filter it off to the online spam/junk folder.

Log into your email account via the web based interface and look around. You may find your reset password message in there.

Nice, enjoy the 50! I'm new to this forum, would like to know which of the members are working photographers. I'm a product/still life photographer.

I worked at Telecolor Studios in Hollywood for a number of years back in the early 70's. They had 10 staff photographers and ran anything and everything from walk in portrait, to onsite portrait, to weddings, to tabletop, and advertising. Everyday was a different assignment. That heavy production environment burned me out and I have not worked as a photographer since.

It took me about 8 years after leaving before I even touch a camera again. Now I piddle around and do things that I enjoy.

I hear you, turtle. The equivalent today would be shooting for an eComm studio. High-volume photography, fast-paced, short turnaround. Burns you out, but pays the bills.

I'm an art photographer and teach a weekly class.
I specialize in alternative process printing (primarily iron printing--platinum, kallitypes, cyanotypes, and some gum bichromate printing)

The only photography forum I frequent is apug.org, which is dedicated to analog photography. I'll have to check it out though.

I'd be good with a weekly assignment. Rather than a weekly assignment, might I suggest a monthly or even bi-monthly? It takes me a while to shoot through a roll, develop, contact print the negatives then get into the darkroom to make an enlarged print. I CAN scan negatives, but I really prefer scanning full 8X10 prints. If it is weekly, I'll do my best to enter as many as I can.

This, easier to moderate too.
I'll post one up.
