Anyone know of any good free/cheap samples?

Hey guys,

I'm a newbie to wet shaving (but love it so far), and am looking to try as many things as I can. That said, I'm also a poor college kid.

I looked at the sticky for sample E-mails, but it feels weird just randomlly E-mailing someone for samples....

Anyone know of any good (preferably free, but cheap is fine too) retailers that have samples of products (blades, aftershaves, shave soap, etc.). I know there's better stuff out there than what I'm using, but I can't afford to buy full size products to find them.

The only samples I've gotten so far were the Geo F. Trumpers. Really nice stuff, but I can't justify it for the price. Maybe if I lived in England it would be cheaper....

Send Col. Conk an email and they will send you 2 sample pucks of soap and small samples of their aftershaves.

There's no shame in asking for samples, pretty much any manufacturer will hook you up if you ask nicely - at worst they'll ask you to pay for shipping, but in my experience most will just send you a bunch of stuff just for asking.

I don't think T&H do it for free anymore.. They have a full sample pack of AS, Balms, creams etc for 10 pounds + shipping

T&H store does if you go there in person, they have a jar full of them. AOS gives you the cream, balm, and preshave oil in unscented. Trumper's hooked me up with one of everything -violet. Col. Conk did the same, plus aftershave.

Wow this is the type of thread that I should not be allowed to see as I've just spent hundreds in the past couple months on fragrance samples. If anyone wants to swap some of their shaving samples for some fragrance samples PM me!

Also, it's unfortunate that so many of the shaving companies I've contacted don't ship samples to Canada (ie Art of Shaving) as I really wanted to try their Sandalwood fragrance (oh well their loss I suppose). The only company I've had luck with is Thierry Mugler (for fragrances) as they handed me over to the Canadian office.

Oh and in case anyone is interested in niche fragrance samples I order sample packs with 7 samples for $15 shipped from Aedes in NYC which is a steal of a deal!

Edit: Does anyone have the GFT catalog that they are done with and wouldn't mind shipping to me?

I need to check out the shave dens samples again....when I first did they seemed expensive, then I realized how much full versions of those soaps are, lol.
