Anyone know anything about these new open comb razors?

I was just trawling through the internet when I came across this site selling new open comb razors.

I've never seen them before but they look interesting.

I am inclined to agree

The entire range finds application in large number of industries including automobile & allied industries. All the products are fabricated by using the finest quality raw materials such as brass and copper scraps.

There are a number of "manufacturers" on Alibaba -- most in Gujarat, India -- who sell razors just like these. Madhav Metal Industries (their profile on Alibaba) is one that's clearly involved with Pearl Shaving in some fashion. Other ones that I can see are KK Shaving System Pty Ltd, Arpan Industries, and Deepak Enterprises.

I don't know if this is something of a cottage industry there, with different smaller shops all working with the same designs and parts, or if these "manufacturers" on Alibaba are just separate wholesalers for some larger factory there. But it seems like these guys are probably the source of a number of the recent flood of lower mid-range offerings that we've seen from various vendors.

Great OC razor. More mild than a Fatip but just as close as shave.

My first thought was: "That looks like a Cadet razor head." Build quality (of Cadet) is low, but shave performance is remarkably good.

Yes, the Pearl razors are just the same as the Cadet and Razorock versions.

There are some great varieties and they are indeed on the agressive side.

Build quality is outstanding! Very precise, very solid, very robust.

The great thing with this Indian company is that they were willing to make stands available that have exactly the same pattern as the razors, allowing to get a very nice set.

Looking for advice.... I've been wanting to try an open comb head sometime but don't want to go top shelf at this stage. Any ideas on finding just the two-piece head? If not what would you suggest for a frugal but reasonable quality choice? The Cadet seems tempting.

I have a Cadet TP-26 OC, great razor and really can't beat the price.
