Anyone following the Penhaligon Email Campaign

I stumbled across this thread over at SMF. It looks like they're trying to get a 'special run' of their tallow-based shaving soaps. I kind of doubt that it will be feasible from a pure business standpoint, but definitely worth keeping an eye on.

Very interesting - I think the Hammam soap is going to be a hard sell (although I'd buy one), I think they'd have much better luck doing one more run of tallow BB or EF.

Yeah, i think a limited tallow run of BB or EF would do much better than Ham. Im surprised more vendors havent gotten on the bandwagon, given the tallow love that exists.

Is this confirmed? Or is this just a maybe? If this happens, I'll be stocking up.

From what I understand, if at least 1000 units are ordered it's a done deal. But not until then. So if maybe if all sites can gaurantee some orders (a bipartisan agreement) and some vendors get in on the deal, it could be done.

We could probably get 1000 just from B&B alone.

Ok. Well, how can I get on this? Also, is it just EF, BB, and HB being made?

I wish they'd include a few more soaps. Castile and Opus 1870 are two I'd really like.

Here's a quote from SMF from the gentleman who has been arranging all this.
I hope no one disapproves of this.

"Well folks, I have good news and bad news....Here is what Penhaligon's has agreed to produce for us:

Hammam Shaving Soap (tallow based)
English Fern Shaving Cream
Hammam Shaving Cream
*Minimum order of each item: 1,000 units"

I would imagine they could create anything as long as 1,000 were guaranteed for each item.
I think it's really cool they are so open to working with the shaving community.

I spent $150 CDN a couple of weeks ago to pick up some tallow English Fern in the wooden bowls.

After obtaining several tallow Erasmic and Palmolive sticks, I am regretting spending this kind of money. Pens is a very good soap, but their prices are completely out of whack.

Other than the fragrance, I find the shaving qualities of the tallow Erasmic and Palmolive to be nearly the same as Pens.

If you are going to buy Penhaligons shaving soaps (especially in the bowls), make sure your shaving acquisition disorder is in full force.
