What's new

Anyone else listen to music while shaving?

I do this regularly and realized tonight when I was in the act that perhaps this isn't exactly a regular thing, or maybe it is.

So, I just wanted to ask. Do you listen to music? Maybe talk radio? sports? Or is it your "quiet time"?

As for myself, I like to think I have a rather eclectic taste in music, but for some reason whenever I'm shaving (usually at night) I listen to classic jazz. Nothing fancy, just the old stand-by's... Dave Brubeck, Coltrane, Charles Mingus, Duke, etc.

Let me know what you do to make your shaving experience even more enjoyable!

I tend to listen to an online UK radio station (I'm from there but no longer live there) when I'm shaving. Not super loud but loud enough that I choose to close the door so as not to disturb anyone else in the house.

Not in any particular order, but my three favorite Pandora stations while shaving are Hall & Oates, Otis Redding, and Thelonius Monk.... Very cool and relaxing!

There's been a few music threads. I don't often listen to music while shaving anymore, but when I do, It's usually Old Blue Eyes or Dino.

All the time and whatever's on my phone! Usually some form of extreme metal but most recently it's been "Be" by Pain of Salvation

I take it one step farther and open up Netflix on my phone. Often I listen to old favorites. Currently working my way through the Andy Griffeth Show.

Glad you posted this. I haven't but have been meaning to and I keep forgetting. Brucered's shaving videos made me think of it.

Pandora = Finiculi Finicula

I get a lot of Italian arias. :001_wub:

I usually listen to the radio in the morning when I am getting ready for work - either WBGO, Newark's jazz station or to Columbia University's jazz station. It relaxes me and keeps me from applying too much pressure.

Typically in the morning I'm listening to news or sport talk radio as I shave and get ready. Haven't tried shaving out to some jazz but I could see that being an enjoyable experience.

I listen to Talksport or podcasts in the winter to catch up on the soccer coverage but now that it's the close season I listen to ska

Not me, I like to hear the razor cutting and doing its good work.

Recently I've been trending towards aggressive razors, which keeps me engaged and requires a bit more concentration. I think I enjoy my shaves a bit more this way.
