What's new

Anyone else kinda pumped for this movie?

Kinda pumped for this movie. Directed by Christopher Nolan, Stars Leonardo Di Caprio(used to hate him but have become a fan after seeing Catch me if you Can, Blood Diamond, and The Departed)and Music my Hans Zimmer.

Finally a movie that's worth seeing this Summer. Im sick of all this 3d/ twilight garbage.(Toy Story 3 only exception...but have not seen it.)

isn't Chris Nolan the guy who directed Memento? That was one of the best movies I've ever seen, about as creative and original an idea as you could imagine.

And yeah, When I was a teenager Leonardo di Caprio was just a pretty boy, with little girls screaming. But now he's taking some really rough, gritty roles and playing them very well. Blood Diamond was kind of cliche and over the top plot wise, but he played his role as perfectly as could be done by anyone, even nails the Rhodesian accent. Same goes for Departed too.

I hadn't even heard of this one, probably will be worth checking out. Looks pretty weird! Christopher Nolan wrote the film himself so it's bound to be good.

and I see whats her name is in it, the girl us Canadians will most remember as Jim Lahey's daughter in Trailer Park Boys lol.

Yes, I am. It looks very cool and I'm very intrigued about the story and to see all of the trippy visual effects.

Just re-watched Gangs of New York yesterday. I had forgotten how good he was in that, too. I'll definitely see it in the theater.

Yeah Nolan directed Memento...and the Dark Knight :thumbup1:

Inception Looks good .I want to watch it with no knowledge of the plot or details . When I first saw The Matrix ...my friend and I knew nothing about it . We groaned when we saw Keanu in it - after that the we were stunned ! If you like Memento try to find Nolan's first film called 'Following" .

Good flick !:thumbup1:

Looks interesting - I'll have to try to catch it.

And is it safe to admit to being a DiCaprio fan today? I've always found him a good actor, but the teen heart-throb phase made that tough.

I'm looking forward to it.

That being said, does it seem like L. DiCaprio has played someone howling in emotional agony for his last five or six films? (the Departed, Rev. Road, Shutter Island, Body of Lies, etc.)

I noticed that too, but he had done a great job in all of those roles.

I was watching the making of this movie the other night on HBO and now I am really pumped to see it. The stunt work looks amazing.

I apologize for resurrecting this thread, but I'd rather do that than clog up the B&B servers with a new thread about this film.

Inception -

n. The creation or beginning of something; the establishment

What a delight. I saw this film on Saturday afternoon and I have to say that this is easily the second best movie I've seen this year (Toy Story 3 is #1), and definitely going in my Top 10 best films ever (as is Toy Story 3).

It was visually stimulating, provided excellent acting, cinematography and highly detailed settings. Each layer had it's own theme and emotion or feeling. The settings helped embody those feelings, which were conveyed very well to the audience. Of course, the main plot points and the concepts were the most enthralling. I think this film asks many good questions about our existence, our perception of reality and how dreams affect our actions and mental state.

For the most part, the acting was spot on. The actors all really came into their own with this film. Special mention to Jason Gordon-Levitt; the guy has some serious acting chops. Marion Cotillard does an excellent job as well. Her classic good looks and acting prowess were great assets to the cast and overall viewing experience.

The more I think about Inception, the more I like it and the more I think it deserves a repeat viewing. This is a brainy movie; if you don't like thinking during a film, you probably won't like it. Keeping the plot points in mind is essential to understanding the depth of the movie and the actions of each character.

After seeing the movie, I read some reviews by some so called "movie critics". Seems like anyone that doesn't like to think or would rather watch explosion after explosion whilst stuffing their face with popcorn, hated this movie. Sorry "movie critics", this isn't Twilight or a typical summer blockbuster (I'm talking to YOU, A.O. Scott)! If anything, a summer release for this movie might have actually been a disservice to it.

If you can afford it, see this in IMAX. I did not see this in IMAX and I regret not doing so.

I saw on the IMAX also. It was great! Only thing that sucked about it was the $16.00 per ticket. However its one of the few movies I would consider seeing again.

Joseph Gordan Levitt and Tom Hardy acting really shined in the movie.

I'd like to see it. it's good to see Leo take on these types of roles. I used to have an aversion to him but over the years he's done some great films. and yes, Christopher Nolan is awesome. I think I might have to dig out Following sometime this week
