What's new

Anybody recommend an online resource for ties?

IMO you need to be a bit more specific; to me, it seems as though you just asked the equivalent of 'where can I get shoes online?' without stating your parameters or the items' purpose.

What is the function of the tie (e.g., M-F board room or occasional wear)?

Silk? made in England/Italy/US?

Patterns / solids?

Recognizable maker?

Price?

i'm not looking for a specific tie. an online tie retailer that gets the nod from most people on BB would likely cover all the bases.

i'm not looking for some novelty tie that looks like a fish or piano keys.

never ordered from them but have heard good things

+1, the tie bar was featured in GQ magazine because they sell quality ties for $15. I continued to see more and more articles about them so I bought several skinny and regular ties and they are really good quality ties for everyday wear. I get lots of complements on my skinny ties with tie bar...great look.

I buy most of my ties from Land's End. I need an extra long tie, and they have a nice selection of long and regular ties at reasonable prices.

If you're looking high end you can't get better quality than Drakes of London. They're expensive, but completely uncompromising on quality of material and construction. They've got a lot of other nice stuff too, if you don't mind dropping a grand on a sweater.

As soon as I can save up the money for it, I'm going to snag one of their shawl collar cardigans.

When it comes to ties, if you're into designers and the such, it's all about www.tiedeals.com. For something a bit more appropriate for business check out the offerings at www.samhober.com

I actually know the guy who owns Ties For You (I don't receive any compensation from him or this site), but I have examined the ties they sell and was very impressed with the quality/price ratio. Ties are $15 apiece if you buy three.

I get mine from The Tie Bar (www.thetiebar.com)

They get my business mostly because they are one of the few places that offers XXL 67" ties that fit my huge neck correctly. Good assortment of colors, never had a problem with quality either.

I usually buy from Brooks Bros. You can order online from them, but I prefer going to one of their retail stores.

I actually just ordered some BB ties online. I like to get their extra-long ties, and the online selection is generally much better than in the stores.
