Anybody hook up a Tradere OC with a bull handle yet?

Been looking at purchasing a Tradere OC razor but I have to be honest that the handle not matching the finish of the head is really the only thing holding me back. I know it has nothing to do with function, but at that price it kinda bugs me. Wondering if someone has tried like a Weber bulldog with it or even any handle that is polished to match the head. Pics are always appreciated.

I have done just that. Tradere head with Weber handle. It was FANTASTIC. It showed me what the Tradere head can really do. The longer handle was difficult for me. Once I realized what the head was capable of, I returned to the original handle to adjust my own user error. The different finishes aren't a concern for me though.

The handle looks great IMO. I had the same concern as you did, but I didn't really have a problem with it when I received the razor. The razor as a whole looks stunning, it makes my other razor look like a toy. You can always get a Weber handle and pair it with Tradere head. Here is a closeup pic taken with my phone:

The handle looks fine with the head in real life, but just for giggles I once put the Tradere head on an R41 handle and it looked fantastic.

Didn't shave worth a hoot, though (too head-heavy).

Thanks for the pics Turtle. The iKon handle looks pretty good on there. Have you shaved with that combo? I found a couple pics Ras120 posted in another thread too with the Weber bulldog handle and that looks good too. But dang, spending another $40 after spending $150 for pretty much just cosmetic value.....

And I also thought about polshing the handle that comes with it too. I have restored a couple of straights and I am sure it wouldn't be hard to get just the smooth parts shined up.

The more I look at the pics of it with the stock handle, the more I am ok with it....but just OK. But hearing everyone say they had the same feeling at first but then they weren't disappointed when they actually saw it in person helps a lot. Besides, like Vickers said, the handle was made for the razor and is part of what makes it shave like it is supposed to.

Ryan, the stock handle is simply gorgeous.

And if you find you want it to be high gloss, I think it can be polished up without too much trouble. You could PM user "elderberry." He polished one of them up to a high-gloss finish, so he could tell you the procedure he used to do so.

I've only used the Tradere handle with their head. It is such a good combination that I was not interested in finding out how something else might "work" with the head.

Typically I will only play handle jumping if I don't feel that I am getting a good shave and want to try other options before deciding to move on to something else. The Tradere shaved so well with the stock handle that I don't have much interest in trying something else on it.

I don't have a way to "buff" my handle as I am not very mechanically/handy-man centered. It came with a high polish head and mat finished handle and mine will probably stay that way as I don't want to make a mess of it.

I highly doubt there will be a problem with the handle once I put it to use. Now the wait begins for that new gear....hate waiting for new stuff. Good thing the there was a some Mystic Water bath soap and a few new shave soap samples in the post today!

I think that you will absolutly love the Tradere when you get it. I was wondering about the different finishes also. But the razor looks great and shaves like a dream. It makes me happy every time I use it. Enjoy your new razor.

To me the weight of the razor is a bit more balanced with the Tradere handle. When I've used it with an iKon Bulldog or a Weber, it makes it feel slightly off balance.
