Any tips for truing/fixing a Gold Dollar?

I've just received my brand spankin' new Gold Dollar, and just as I've expected it needs a little work.
There is a significant bow down the length of the spine so it doesn't sit flat on the hone.
I've straightened a sightly bent tang before by using three drill bits arranged geometrically in a vise and slowly applied pressure. But this blade has a general bow down it full length so I'm not sure if it'll work without further warping things.
Any pointers?

Are you talking about a truly bent blade, or are you taking about a smiling blade that doesn;t sit on a hone flat at the toe and heel on both sides of the blade?

Well.... it WAS a truly bent blade.... now it's a broken blade

I was flexing it in my bare hands, and it broke! Almost gave myself a nice gash.

Now it seems all I have left are the tiny little washers.......

On the bright side: I've had warped Dovos that cost 10x as much (I didn't snap them in half, however...)

well, I've made much more expensive mistakes in the past....

BTW what can be done with bent blades? Anything? I assume that not all razors would break like that...

I've never had a bent GD.

Hardened steel (i.e.-the kind used for razors) is quite brittle. Pretty much any razor will snap in half like that. That's the reason why razor + sink faucet = big chip....

Sorry for your misfortune. You must have a hand grip like a vice..
