Any special treatment needed for a NOS vintage badger brush?

This is what I received in the mail today:
NOS-VINTAGE EVER READY SHAVING BRUSH
PURE BADGER BRISTLE R40.

I bought the brush to use, not to sell or just keep sealed up never to be seen.

My question is, do I have to do anything special before using? I've read the threads about breaking in a brush. The general consensus is to just use it.

I'm excited and haven't broken the deal on the box but plan to use it in the next few days. Here's a few pics of the box.

A nice warm bath and a few bowl lather passes should do it.

If you are worried, shampoo between the bath and test lather.

I have several vintage brushes. The ones I decided to use get a lather up with any anti-bacterial soap on hand, rinsed and then just normal use.

Two ER 200T show the difference between NOS and after maybe a dozen use cycles.

I couldn't wait to open it, here's a couple pics. It feels like a good midrange badger brush. It has the smell like an old bookstore but that won't last long. I'm not shaving until Friday late afternoon because I'm going ice fishing Friday morning. Its It's amazing how much difference a little scruff can help LOL. Plus I'm a head shaver so if I'm all smooth, I can't keep a beanie on to save my life!

Does anyone know how to date this? Information is very hard to find.

It came out of a box today, so I'd guess December 2022!

I have a Ever-Ready 1000 I just put a pure badger knot in last night.
Same handle as yours just a different number.
Nice handles and they fit well in the hand.
If I had to guess a date, maybe late 40's early 50's?? Have yet to find one in an old advertisement.
