I read some of the recipes online for making your own pre-shave oil. Walnut oil is one of many carrier oils you can use and I just happened to have a can of it in the ice box-roasted walnut oil. (Because sometimes you feel like a (wal)nut, and sometimes you don’t.)
I mixed in some Cremo Palo Santo beard oil for the stinky “essential,” (ooh, mustn't forget that,) oil part of the recipe and found it’s a bit heavier than Shave Secret, but it works much better.
When I’m done shaving it leaves a very subtle, smokey scent that’s easily overpowered by any aftershave you’d wear. You do catch a slight whiff of it throughout the day, though.
