Almost two weeks ago I tried an experiment. I had been doing a 4 pass shave, WTG, XTG ear-to-nose, XTG nose-to-ear and then ATG. Comfortable, very close and most mornings very near if not BBS. Unlike my 1 pass shaves with a cart in the past I almost never had any irritation even on my neck. I wondered if instead of doubling up on the XTG what would happen if I dropped the nose-to-ear pass and added a second ATG, a 'Double A' shave if you will. What's the worst that could happen, a little burn? Well yeah, but nothing ventured nothing gained. After all ATG touch-ups on problem spots hadn't given me any grief (weepers, yes, sometimes, but not real, long lasting grief). So I took the plunge - er, pass, whatever. Wow! closer shaves, much less touching up with the razor (but there was an increase in faceturbation which some prudes might call 'touching up' I suppose) and no irritation. It's now my standard routine. It really works for me, doesn't add any time to the shave and so far, I'm not paying any penalty. Anybody else doubling up on their ATG's and liking it?
