What's new

any informations about this razor available?

The handle is almost identical to this Club model. Let me look some more.

Here is another Club with even a closer handle. I don't have a picture of the underside of the head, though, so I don't know what type of blade positioning it uses, pins or the modified bar like yours.

hospital brand razor.

I'm willing to bet that the Club and the Hospital brand razors were made by the same manufacturer. They are identical in design and both were manufactured in Newark, New Jersey in the early 1930's. Still, the Hospital pictured below has the same pin design and not Achim's modified bar design.

Club info - 1935 - Club Razor and Blade Mfg., Corp., 36-40 Green St., Newark, New Jersey.

Hospital info - 1933 - Hospital Blade Co., Newark, NJ

Yup. I was right. Hospital Blade Company was affiliated with Club Razor and Blade Mfg. Co. Club also operated several front compnies including Don Juan Blade Co., Fan Blade Co., Blue Strike Blade Co., and Durex Blade Co. Obviously Club manufactured the Hospital razors as they had the razor operation.

there is no I in team

Abracadabra, thread resurrection. The first razor pictured is a very ragged and rough Doehler-Jarvis adjustable. Mine has the middle spacer plate attached to the base of the head. Turning the handle adjusts blade gap exposure, and the middle spacer plate maintains tension between the two pieces of the head, keeping everything locked up solid. The handle has an arrow on it and the XOXO on the underside of the base is I guess a rough adjustment scale.

And the detached spacer in the pic confirms my fears that this adjustment system may be fragile. There's not much holding that spacer plate to the base of the head. After I get done with the blade currently in mine, my Doehler-Jarvis is going in the vault. Darn thing does give a good smooth shave though.

From Google Books and News Archive.

The Doehler-Jarvis division of National Lead is not a giant division yet look at the list below of what it makes. ... Cameras, projectors, binoculars, toys, microscopes, guns, fishing tackle, scales, clocks, cutlery, razors........

It appears that Doehler-Jarvis was an aluminum smelter/die caster in Toledo, OH. The plant burned in 1997 and is now a vacant lot. Surprisingly, I drove by this lot on Detroit St (US-24) on New Year's Day......
