Any Information Available On "Loew Germany" Razors?

I recently purchased a rhodium-plated "Frankenrazor" consisting of a Gillette Tech fat handle and a "Loew Germany" open comb head. Unfortunately, I've found very few references to the Loew Company on the Internet. I did find where Loew was mentioned in an April 21, 1930 TIME Magazine article wherein it stated that Autostrop Probak blades were designed to fit razors manufactured by a number of companies including Elite, Loew, Renard, Darwin, Holtz, H&T, Kace, Via, and Gillette. That's about all I found.

Does anyone have any additional information they can offer regarding this company? If so, it would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Hang in there, Steve. Alex will be around and I'm sure he'll not only know about your razor, he'll give you the address of the factory and first and last names of every employee!

This is a travel razor made by the German Compny called Loews starting around 1922. They are associated with other razor makers that make similar looking travel razors such as Koening, Befa, Hennico, Enn, Werke, and Meechan. All these companies made the same exact razor that you have ( except the Tech handle) ..It is believed that Gillette in Germany made these on a contract basis for stores and distributors. The razors all come in a small pocket case in velvet lining

Thank you VERY much, Alex. This is exactly the kind of information I was looking for. The razor head in your photos is definitely the same as the one on mine. The Gillette connection is interesting and makes sense too as this head appears to be a mirror image of their "Old Type" head. It also means that this razor I've procured may very well be a mating of two Gillette-made components making it not quite the mongrel I first thought it to be!

Thanks again for the help!
