Any idea on the date on this Made in England DE Gillette?

See photo below, I just received this from an eBay purchase and the guy had it listed as a "U-2" date of 1974, but on the back side of the razor it appears to be stamped "E S" Does the stock number on the box help identify a date?

Any idea what I have here? It's obviously an Aluminum 3 piece tech made in England, but is there any way to date it?

The U2 should be opposite of the Made in England stamping. U2 would be April - June of 1974. Do you have a photo of the other side of the baseplate?

Looks like a Gillette Tech from the early to mid 1960s all the way through the mid 70's. Check out Mr. Razor's site.

I read that as S E, not E S.
So 1972 for an S Tech.

Sorry but if it’s not stamped U2 then there is no way to put an exact date on it (of course it could be from 1974).
Ask the seller why it was listed as an U2.
I don’t think S E is a date code.

I did and his answer was a rather unsatisfactory "I researched eBay and found a similar razor with this description"

The US "S" stands most likely for army inventory . The above S E could be "army" "export", but thats just a theory.

The OP's "S" plate (blade guard) has notched corners, indicating post-1961.

Just look at this one. http://www.mr-razor.com/Rasierer/Tech/1972 (S4) Tech England.JPG It has the S code. My guess yours is a1972 razor. The logo on the top cap is the one Gillette introduced in 1965 and used until 1977, when the newer logo was introduced with the Atra. And the English Gillettes started the codes in 1970, I think.
