I've always enjoyed shooting, mostly rimfire rifles up until I was 18, then a mishmash of rimfire and centerfire handguns, and a few more rimfire rifles.
My nicest revolver has to have been a Dan Wesson .357, deep blue, 8" vent rib barrel. Extremely sweet factory trigger, smoothest I've ever experienced short of a Colt Python.
I've had 3 striker-fired autos: (2) Glocks and an XD. Nice, but nothing exceptional.
I recently got my first SIG, a German P6 made in 1981. Some holster wear, but fired very little. It was sweet! It did not like contemporary self-defense ammo, at least the ones I tried, but handled FMJ with ease.
Around the same time, I picked up a S&W 3913. As far as heft and shootability, it is very much like the P6, and does handle the hollow-points just fine.
I definitely have a fondness for the DA/SA auto. DA for the first shot (great for safety), and SA thereafter.
My most recent acquisition is a H&K P7... my personal "Holy Grail" of handguns. Very unique, there is not another handgun like "the lemon squeezer", either in form or function.
There's been lots more, but these are the ones I own/have owned that I find most memorable.
