You are not only comparing apples (artisan articles) with oranges (mass-produced articles), but are also symbolically castrating one of the finest artisans.
BTW. This somehow reminds me of the conversation an Italian and a French prime minister once held. The Italian says: «OUR wines are worldwide the best ones!» The French replies smugly: «Maybe. But ours are for sure the most expensive ones!»
