Any barbers in Utah?

I'm looking to contact a barber in the Utah, Salt Lake area. Anywhere around there, provo, midvale, slc. I'm looking at going to TheBarberSchool of Midvale Utah, and would like to talk with a local barber before I sign any contracts.

I don't know any. But if you find some I beg of you post the results here. I'd love to know some local barbers.

Ok, whats with the hijack here?
Ok... another try. If anyone is in the Utah salt lake, provo, midvale (or anywhere near those area's, or heck, just in UTAH ANYWHERE!!!!) please ask your local barber what they think of TheBarberSchool of Midvale. I need to know if this school is reputable before I give them my money!

I live in Oregon, I can't exactly drive over there and see if they are any good. Please help?

There's a good shop in Draper on 123rd S. and about 9th E. or so. My dad is a regular, and I stop by when I'm in town. IIRC they shave your neck with a disposable straight and you get a back massage with a cut. My son likes it because they have truck and gun magazines lying around. You don't really see that here in Massachusetts.

I have heard nothing of it and I don't know that it could be very old.

The barber school my brother attended in Salt Lake shut down quite some time ago. In '96, I toyed with the idea of going myself and taking over because my brother was disabled and couldn't cut hair all day, but there were no longer (according to his research on my behalf) any actual barber schools in Utah at the time.

I don't venture down there (for love nor money!), but we do have members from Utah County on the forum who might go investigate for you. (?)

I don't know how far north you are interested in going, but there's a gal that runs a classic barbershop in on Main St. in Kaysville. I live in Ogden, and will occasionally travel down and talk to her about getting razors and stuff fixed. She seems very familiar with the "barber community" in SLC as well. If you're interested in at least talking with her, let me know and I'll find her number for you.

I actually just noticed that you're in Oregon, so a little trip up 15 is out of the question. Either way, let me know.

Yeah, that would be great Gene. I'd really appreciate the help. I've been looking at housing, moving costs, and everything I'll need, and I really don't want to make this move if the school I'm looking at is not worth going to. Any help she can provide would be great!

I'm glad I could help! Judging by the article, it sounds like they've assembled a pretty good group.
I drove past it the other day, so I know exactly where it is.
