Any Artisan/Boutique Super Expensive Double Edge Blades?

Interesting topic.

But what factors contribute to the quality of a shave with a razor? You have blade gap, weight, handle length, etc. Plus the handles and such are customizable. An artisan can set themselves apart by machining and customizing these variables.

But a razor blade? What are your factors? Sharpness and thickness? By the time someone invested in the machinery to make razor blades, would your product be that much different and superior to a product such as feather? Who knows?

I think the blade making process requires special machinery, and all its good for is making blades.

Where if you had a mill and a lathe, you could turn out a razor, or a stand, or other things. The equipment isn't as specialized. You could even turn acrylic to make shave brushes.

I think due to the lack of customization for blades and the specialization of equipment is why we dont see artisan blades.

If an artisan came out with a remake of the rolls razor though, that might be something.
