Any 100% Cream Users?

I'm finding myself preferring creams here lately. So much so that it might be a while before I use a soap again. Bigelow has been my only cream thus far, but I've used it much more than my soaps on the whole. I had such a good experience with the Godrej cream this morning, and I have two more to try after it. Creams seem so much easier to lather than soaps it almost feels like cheating.

Uh oh, sounds like an AD is starting! There's so many more to try. Musgo, TOBS, AOS, T&H, the list goes on.

So, how many people here use creams exclusively?

My first few months of DE shaving was exclusively creams and the onset of AD quickly saw me with about 20 different ones to try (ironically the only one you use - Bigelow - is the only one I own and am yet to try).
I'm probably about 90% creams now after discovering MdC and the occasional use of eShave Mandarin soap but I think I will be predominantly a cream user at least until I make a decent dent in the amount of cream I own.

I prefer creams, and feel myself gravitating towards the use of them right now. I do have more soaps than creams right now, but that will change fairly soon as I have some on the way, and am eyeballing many more.

Seems like there's more variety with creams, plus you don't have to have a mug or bowl for each one. More room to hoard!

110% cream user here. Soaps dry out my skin, and I already wash my face in the shower before the shave.
So why use a soap once again after the shower, I ask myself :biggrin1:

I own 65-70 creams now.........no soaps.

ive tried some soaps, only two have kept in my den (arko and mikes natural barbershop). everything else is cream (musgo, tobs lavender and avocado, COB). the other soaps ive tried have dried my skin out or just didnt lather right, so i stick to what works and what feels good, my creams and the two mentioned soaps.

I started with soaps and then my first cream was C.O. Bigelow. I saw that it was made by Proraso and I saw that it received much love here so I purchased a tube of the Red (sandalwood) and was just amazed. Wanting to try a Bay Rum scent I picked up a jar of Taconic from Phil at Bullgoose. It lathers good, but I wish the scent was a little stronger. It is still a nice change up. Looking to try some of that coconut oil cream from Geo F. Trumper. I have no need to go back to soaps.

never used a soap, i just imagine them to dry too much.

nothing like a nice cream, even the word sounds better :)

I prefer Creams I do have 1 soap and 1 croap and a few soap samples. I have nothing against soaps but I like how with cream I can easily get the perfect amount of cream I need for the shave. With Soaps i am always guessing how long should I load my brush and some times I dont get it right. I have nothing against soaps at all but I use creams pretty much every single time.

I appreciate the feedback! I've got four different creams currently. I'd definitely like to add Musgo and La Toja to my stable, and maybe the Italian formula Palmolive with menthol. I'll see if I can't get some of the higher-end creams as gifts at some point!

I last regularly used a shaving soap in maybe 1975.....Ive tried a few since then and never felt that a soap would meet my needs based on my method of shaving....

That's exactly why I use creams exclusively, too. I had enough trouble finding a face wash that didn't irritate my skin. Finding a shaving soap that worked for me, didn't leave my skin red or dry, seemed unlikely. Even some creams have been a problem for me, like those with really strong scents.

Simpson's Luxury Shave Cream and T&H Ultimate Comfort are my standards. I have some Proraso Green that I use every so often. There is also one tub of D. R Harris Windsor that I just received as a birthday gift. I'll save that one for occasional use. That's it for my current collection.

I just use creams. My go to cream is QCS, but on occasion will use my GFT Coconut oil cream, and am awaiting arrival of Spencer & Devon Sagebrush cream from Bullgoose. Soaps always seemed to be too drying to my skin and regardless of the different soaps I've tried, they all have fallen short on slickness compared to any cream I have used.

I'd love to see a picture of your shave den, Claus. It must be a proper 'Who's who' of shaving creams
