another slim on da bay

Maher,

Looks like a Slim to me. He says in the desciption that the razor is a shiney silver color and the pics make it look gold (this phenomenon happens to me sometimes). Granted, he may have changed the deiscription after you emailed him. None-the-less, the price is good.

oh yes this guy is honest in the description but the images I believe are not, I do agree that digital images do show a bit off, I also have had that where silver looks like gold but I believe that the images are for the aristocrat, well just checking

Even if that is the case, it's still a good deal. He is accurately describing the item and he is saying the silver looks gold. Look at his other items. The guy knows razors. I believe the razor in question to be a slim adjustable. Look closely at the second pic. It's clearly a silver razor.

OK, you are correct looked again but from my daughters laptop and the color is better than my desktop

thank you Dustin, I stand corrected, this is what I really like about this forum honest good advise ... thanks again

i recently bought a different slim adjustable from that seller, and in fact he referred me to B&B... i'd lurked here previously but finally decided to sign up.

anyways the description for the one i purchased also mentioned the chrome looking gold in the picture, so i'm sure it's just the camera, no mistakes or trickery or anything.

if the seller reads this, hello again and thanks for convincing me to sign up here :]

Hi there, that’s my listing. The pictures are of the slim described in the listing. The wording was not edited. I admit that the pictures could be better, but I did the best I could with my abilities and equipment. The description is thorough and accurate, and I stand behind my sale items. A quick review of my bay profile will show what kind of seller I am.

I usually don’t have ‘quiet time’ to take pictures until late at night and I’m not a great photographer. Using my point and shoot digital and the available lighting in my computer room, I took the best pictures I could. Using a flash produced too much glare, so I went without. On my computer, the pics look dim, but decent. They’re hosted on Auctiva, likely compressed there, and then posted on Ebay. Somewhere in that process, the razor becomes a lot more ‘golden.’ Today, I tried to see what it would take to replace the photos in the description, but with the Auctiva posting, it looked like it would be difficult to change them without messing up the html (weak skills here) or incurring additional bay pic fees.

I’ve bought a few lots, and got some good razors for myself, some junk, and a few that cleaned up as good shavers that I plan to sell back at reasonable prices to mitigate the AD. For auction prices, I think mine are fair, and I promise a good shaver.

I’m no expert, but if I had a gold slim, it would either be sitting in my den, or listed for more than $20 :001_smile

P.S. – Hi dix0r, hope you like the razor and the little extras I threw in.

That explains the gold color.

Nice Slim, BTW.

If you can, change the white balance on your camera to tungsten or indoor. The yellow cast is caused by yellow light which can be compensated for by changing the white balance. The best solution is to do a custom white balance.

The other alternative is to just change the light: try taking the pictures in daylight. You may even get a more true colour under regular fluorescent.

Old style film photographers use blue filters on their lenses to get rid of the yellow colour cast.
