Another Schick Repeating Razor

Well, my grouping of the Schick Repeating Razors is nearly complete. Just need one more type - the Schick Simplified from 1933-41 without the teeth on the safety bar.

Picked up the first one they came out with in 1926/27 today.

Hey Brent, did you happen did to grab that on our favorite auction site? If so, I was watching that guy too. It looks great. Have you ever used one? I landed the square model recently. It's an aggressive shave for sure.

I noticed from your 'shave den' picture that you have a Type F. That's on my list - how do you like it?

Yes, I got it from the auction site we all love to hate.

I have models A, B, C and F. But I haven't shaved with any of them. The F I would be willing to try if I had injector blades. Will have to look for them.

Your Repeating looks terrific! Very nice. Mine are in fair-good shape, but I wouldn't shave with them because the head doesn't lock into place. What did you think? Any issues with the head slipping? How aggressive did you think it was? Comparable to any of the Gillettes?

Mainly, I appreciate the engineering that went into them. Especially the C model repeaters.

I agree with you about the engineering - disposable these are not. Sounds like you are building a nice collection.

I have a C1 model repeater and it is the most finely crafted razor I have ever beheld. I don't think the head would slip as it has a fairly tight pivot. The only concern I have, and it may be my razor, is that the blade isn't held very snug. Though, I have heard that the original blades were thicker than the modern ones.

The pivot is pretty tight. I might just be too chicken to trust it.

My C is a C1, too, and it has blades in the loader. But who knows what shape they're in? They do look fairly thick.

The blade in the B head was thinner and ws in there pretty tightly, so a modern injector blade might work in that.
