What's new

Another one of my weird homeade projects.

Here's a razor holder I whipped up from scrap at work today. Whatcha think?

It's not done yet, got to clean it up a bit more and clear coat it, then will probably mount it with 1/4" copper pipe clamps.

i'm thinking two things.....1) i want one. looks kinda like half of a clock to me..one of those big ole clocks. idk. 2)i want a job that lets me build razor holders!

Thanks!

Playing with the fabrication equipment is definately one of the perks at my job. The other two perks are being allowed to surf B&B while knocking back a cold beer. I've been there 9 years and I still haven't figured out if the perks negate the general disorder and low pay, LOL.

That is pretty neat.
What really caught my eye is the razor with the threaded rod handle...I assume this is also something you whipped up? Very cool!

all these are home made. All the material except the silvertip knot is scrap or from the hardware store.

Very interesting creations you have there. Pretty awesome looking actually. As for the razor wall hanger I think it would look good with some form of hammer tone paint applied to it.

Very nice, but I'd fear scratching the razors... have you considered adding something to soften the edges/slots?

Well, no I really hadn't. The racks are made from round bar that got a throrough wire wheel polishing so there isn't really a sharp edge, but I guess there is a chance it could scratch something. Lucky for me all my razors are pretty beat up already cept the slant.

There was a post I saw yesterday where someone mentioned applying a spray-on rubber coating to a metal razor rack to avoid the scratch issue, he made it seem like it was a pretty easy process so that might be worth looking into
