Another New 1912 Fan

Hello to All,
I know it's been said before but I just had to add my comments on this razor. I received mine in a PIF from forum member Windwalker, a 1912 Ever Ready. The first time I used it I couldn't believe the shave I got. This in one great razor and the design is so simple. The only issue I have is I wear hearing aids. I can hear it cutting when I'm close to my ears but after that it's a "let the force be with you" thing. But I was still getting smooth and very close shaves. Last night I took a chance and put my aids in so I could hear it cutting. That was the best shave I have had with it yet and the sound. Is that something else? Regarding the angle of the razor I find it about the same as I use for a DE. I also notice my face feels different then after a DE shave??? I've used both Pella and NOS GEM blades and I really don't notice a difference so far. The GEM blades are in package with the Contour II razor offer, whenever that was. From what I have found reading here the 1912 design is favored by many, next being the older type. I just got another one a GEM Parade I think they are know as. Picked it up on EBay for $1.87, but shipping was $6. Guy is just a tad high on his shipping IMHO.:glare: I'm feeling guilty now because my newly acquired Red Tip and Slim have sitting for about 2 weeks now. I can't stop using the 1912. But I will get back to them. So many razors, so little time:001_smile Which model would you all recommend as the next one to try?

Since you appreciate the 1912 you are a good candidate for one of the earlier 1900/1901 Lather Catchers. Put in a memorized search on eBay and wait for a good one to come along. It will likely cost you a bit more (I've paid as little as $30 and well over $100) but they are great. Within the lower end of that price range the price and quality have little to do with each other. The quality of things that go for much less or for over $100 will probably match the price.
