Stopped by a yard sale yesterday; nice home in a nice neighborhood. Lots of vintage and antique stuff at very good prices (gave a quarter for an old fountain pen that still works). As I was paying the man, I asked if he'd happen to have an safety razors. He said, "Stright razors or the Gillette types?" I said mainly the Gillette types (since that's what I use and don't EVER plan to try a straight). He said, "Somewhere buried in the basement I know I've got straights and safeties in a box; I'd have to dig them out and no idea what shape they're in but, yeah, I got some." He then said he's planning an auction sometime this year, but asked for my number and said he'd give me a call when he gets the razors dug out. I said thanks, and that I'm sure there'd be something in that box I'd be interested in - maybe the whole box.
Anything I don't desire to keep will go on the block here, since I really don't intend to become a collector. No, seriously.
Fingers crossed!
