ive had this for a while its my grandfathers he said he doesnt know how long he has had it but its pretty damn old.
its not really had a life of work of knives but its had plenty of use on racing axes he said the problem is that its too hard and that he would rather use his norton barbers hones.
so here it is its a bit more cream than the pic makes out it may look porus but it isnt and its quite fine i was thinking that it could be an medium Arkansas but i have no idea. i can tell you that its 6.5 on the moh's hardness scale
not sure if this helps but i put a couple of drops of tea tree oil on it to see if it sucks the very light oil up left it over night and i woke up and the surface of the stone was covered in the oil it never sucked it up. when i was lapping it the slurry was white or a very pale cream colour. it didnt stick to the diamond plate like my slate
First dry
This is the other side that hasnt been lapped
Wet
Surface when wet
