Another Hatching Semouge

Got this 1460 less than a month ago, used it less than ten times and the paint is showing the classic Semouge fault :cursing:No drops, not submerged in water, only wet bristles in a warm cup, left out to dry...Did no mattered.
The real issue is that I really like it and would like to know what you getnts that have had this happened to do in these cases? Wait till it peels off completely and continue using? Re-paint? Trash it?

Put a drop of "crazy glue" (cyanoacrylate glue) on it, it should "wick" underneath, and help stabilize.

I have had a half a dozen or so Semogue painted brushes for several years and none have cracked or peeled. I would contact the vendor and see if you can get relief.

Also, I participate in a number of shave forums and have not heard of or seen postings concerning the "classic Semouge fault".

Happened to me with a Semogue as well. It would seem to be poor prep or perhaps unseasoned wood. People have been keeping water out of wooden boat hulls for a very long time; it would seem Semogue could do better.

I guess I can give the Crazy Glue a try.

A quick Google search and I came with no less than ten posts on this same problems in B&B and The Shaveden.

I store it down, except in two occasion. Still, two times its all it takes to damage the paint??? Like I said, other than the paint, the brush feels fantastic. I'll give the vendor to see.

I have theItalien Barber Special edition(or limited edition not sure of the title), basically a 1305 painted differently. I dropped it and it chipped and so I just used some testers to stop the influx of water. I'd say contact your vendor or just use it as is with a little paint on it. I own several Semogue brushes and they are great but the paint issue is only on my IB. Let us know what you find out

Contacted the seller and he told me that this has been an on and off issue with this model brush. He offered me various options to deal with the problem, and I will now exchange the 1460 for a 1470. I have to say I am quite happy with this vendor, so far.
