Another DRGM Razor

There's been a few past B&B Threads on DRGM marked razors. (Deutsches Reichsgebrauchsmuster - not a German patent but a temporary copyright on design within Germany from 1891 to 1952).

Had been looking at heavy razor handles on the market and stumbled across this neat razor at a low price. The seller stated it wasn't a franken-razor, but either way, I love the handle. Black painted brass. Can't find any markings. It is 3&3/4" and weighs in at 3oz...a beast!

The baseplate is bakelite, super thick, has the DRGM mark, and a serial or part number "5".

The top cap shows signs of having been painted black, with a long 5/8" threaded post, vs the standard 3/8" (like a Merkur42c or Gillette OT). Unfortunately, it's made of Zamak and the post did not survive shipping. The razor must have been shipped while assembled. The seller made everything right as best he could, but past B&B threads confirm JB Weld isn't reliable for zamak. Here's a pic of the pieces just sort of balanced together.

1. Does anyone have any razor parts like this one, or maybe seen these same ones before, or have any more info? Couldn't find anything like this handle or baseplate in online searches, including in the online Collector's Encyclopedia.

2. Does anyone know of a top cap with this longer threading? I could not get a Gillette OT cap to work once a blade was added. The Merkur 42c can just barely grab the threading of the handle. But not by much. Was thinking of asking in the BST...

Thanks for reading!

Checked a few caps that are easy to pick up. Longest thread out of these 4 are from left to right are Yaqi helmet, razorock old type, razorock sloc, zomchi. Post on the helmet measured 12mm to the top of the threads, my Gillette old type post measured at 9mm.

@Pineapple - wow, thank you very kindly indeed for sending those pics and measurements!

Looks like the Yaqi Helmet (Head only) is about $9, and the RazoRock heads are around $7.
If I can't get the Merkur head to work, these are some great and inexpensive options for sure.

At least the handle can be used with pretty much anything else to add 3oz of weight.

Now if only I can find some other info on the mystery baseplate
