What's new

... And then it just Clicked

So I got home today and decided to shave off my moustache. Fair enough, though a nagging urge to pull out my straight and attempt the process again was getting too hard to ignore.

So I massaged in some Lime Skin Food, lathered some Spieck with my fingers and some water and went at it. Bah! No good again, the damn thing just seems to tug at the hair and not cut them at all.

Hmmmm... I flattened the blade out more, as well as applying a pressure in a way that felt unnatural to me. Hot damn, one stroke, and a two weeks of hair dissipated. The learning curve is indeed steep. You can watch all the footage and read all the texts you can concerning a straight shave, but what you need is a good adaptive intelligence.

I use a less common grip on the razor because it works best for me. This last adjustment was what I needed to start getting decent shaves from my razor, and I had to figure it out entirely for myself.

So, it all just clicked, and now I can build my technique from solid foundations. Colour me converted.

(My goodness, isn't it bloody smooth when you get it right?)

Nice when it all comes together. I remember when that happened to me, many many years ago. The second my butt cheeks relaxed, everything started to fall into place. SMILE...:)

Congradulations!!!
