An INTERNATIONAL Thank You PIF

Hello B&B!

I'm constantly reminded of how valuable our B&B members are from all around the globe. We're so lucky to have great gents, ladies, etc from CONUS all the way to timbuktu and back again.

This PIF is a special thank you to international members who do not whine about the CONUS nature of many goings on here at B&B. The rules are quite simple.

1 - Reside outside the CONUS. I'm including Alaska and Hawaii in this because their residents seem to get excluded just as often as truly "international" members do...

2 - Have your real first name in your signature and a real location in your info... nothing stupid like "state of confusion, moving after dark" etc... real places only please

3 - Respond in this thread with something other than "I'm In"... share with us an interesting piece of trivia about where you live!

4 - You cannot have ANY whining, derogatory, complaining, or otherwise negative comments about the CONUS nature of other threads. B/S/T sales, PIFs, vintageblades shipping, etc. I've you've been pouting about feeling excluded from CONUS B&B activities, this PIF is not for you.

5 - Contributors will be counted in the contest twice, ActiveDuty/Veterans will be added five times. Thank you for supporting B&B or more importantly, your country!

WHAT'S THE PRIZE?

$M-BB-1629large.jpg

Up for grabs is one brand new, in original box, stick of the fantastic Sir Irisch Moos and a fantastic blade sampler. I wanted to include some aftershaves here, but I'm sure you see the irony in that setup

This is one of my all-time favorite soaps. It's a pity that it's been discontinued, but I have enough to share with our great B&B members!

WHEN WILL I GET IT?

I'll run this PIF through Sunday night, 10/21 at 8pm EST. I'll add all of the eligible usernames (with applicable x2 and x5 multipliers) into a random selection tool and post the info here.
I'll then send a PM to the lucky winner and ship the stick/blades off on Monday morning.

Thanks for playing!

Well now...thanks for the generous PIF opportunity and I'd like to throw my part Irish hat into the ring for a chance to try some of that Irish soap! (the other part on my mother's side is Italian!)

We Careys go back a long way in Ireland, and sadly I have yet to visit. It's on my bucket list...right after a shave at Trumpers :) which is sort of in the same... hemisphere.

I currently reside in New Hamburg, Ontario Canada and have done NO CONUS whining!

Rob, that is one incredible shield! Thanks for joining in the fun here and thank you for all of your contributions around the B&B!

Brian,
That's a nice PIF. Generous of you to give away some of your stash of a favourite, discontinued soap. And kind to us non-CONUS types.
I'm NOT in.
I'm afraid that I need to clear some room before taking on more blades and soaps.
From a small town in Ontario, Canada, eh. Famous for hockey, hosers, and Dudley Doright of the RCMP.

That's very nice, count me in. Thanks for this unusual pif, I've already edited my location to show where I am, and my login *is* my real name.

Something about where I live? Well, a curious not well known fact is that apparently we are the city you have the highest likelihood to survive a nuclear war! Imagine that. I guess it has to do with being far from nuclear targets, and being surrounded by mountains.

Or on a more positive note, we are the capital of pão de queijo, or cheese rolls, as seen below. I guest this is better than the other one... :)

well my real name is Lex so its actually in my Alias rather than my sig but i can fix that if need be. my info is that in Australia is the largest island in the world...school info!

What a great gesture. I would like to added to the list please :)

My interesting info is that I live about 1 hour drive away from the mecca of traditional shaving i.e. London (home for TOBS, T&H, D R Harris etc etc) :001_cool:

Thank you

Welcome Sergio! Those cheese rolls look fantastic, thank you for sharing!
I know it's early, but your nuclear fallout trivia has GOT to be one of the most interesting things that will pop up in this thread. Thanks again!

Welcome Lex! I like your trivia style too - short and sweet

Brian, I like your idea and appreciate it. Would it be ok if I sent you a user grade gold Tech to throw in the box?

Wow, very generous of you! I'd think it's the more the merrier, so let's do it. I'm guessing the PIF winner will be fine waiting an extra day or two for the inclusion of your tech.

Thank you!

Great PIF! And thanks for being so generous to share some of your soap stash!

Umm. something interesting about the place I live in, Singapore, would be..

$merlion.jpg

The Merlion (Malay: Singa-Laut) is a mythical creature with the head of a lion and the body of a fish, used as a mascot and national personification of Singapore. Its name combines "mer" meaning the sea and "lion". The fish body represents Singapore's origin as a fishing village when it was called Temasek, which means "sea town" in Javanese. The lion head represents Singapore's original name — Singapura — meaning "lion city" or "kota singa".

The harder your try to walk through it, the more stuck you become.

Wow, nice pif. Never done it before, but had to try this one. The Irisch Moos is not availeble in Norwegian stores and i've always wanted to try it. Fun fact: There are NOT polar bears in the norwegian mainland, only Svalbard, an island north of Norway. I'm adding a pic. of my ancestor Harald Haarfagre, Norways first king (google it;)). My American uncle searched for over a year to trace our family tree far, far back. And came to ca. 1000 a.c. By using old church book and stuff. True viking and proud of it.
