About 1-1.5 will give you the same blade exposure.

I'd lean towards 2.5 but honestly, as much as I liked my Futur when I first bought it, I hardly use it since I've bought the Slant, SS, and a couple of others.

also does the slant take different blades than the merkur heavy Chromer?

Check with Lee for your slant. And it will take the same blades.
