So I went and mowed somebody's yard this evening after work, and came home sweaty. So I took my puck of Williams into the shower and used it as a shower soap. I didn't have a washcloth so I just put the puck in my hand and rubbed it on my skin. It generated a thin but very slick slurry without a lot of air in it that looked pretty much exactly like KMF cream does if you use it brushless.
Now, brushless KMF cream provides a pretty good shave. So I did a little experiment. I put a tiny of bit of KMF on and applied it to my left arm the way I would for a brushless shave. Then I took the Williams and applied it directly to my right arm the way I did when showering. Then I compared the two sides.
Bingo. Seems like Williams might provide a pretty darn good shave if used like this. Maybe the problem is that people are trying to lather it when really it would make for a great shave if used as a "brushless shave stick."
Has anybody tried using it this way? If so, how did it work? Worse, or better than when lathered painstakingly with a brush?
