American Crew Shave Products

I recently won a tub of American Crew Shave Cream in a raffle along with a synthetic brush from the same brand.

It works ok, but I seem to be having trouble getting a good lather built up with it...and the cleanup is a chore.

Although there's no scent on the label, it almost reminds me of a very light saddlewood.

Has anyone else tried it? Some of the local quickie haircut places are starting to carry this brand.

The American Crew shaving cream is a cream : no latherability.

I've used it for a few years : smells good and provides a very nice shave, but it does not need lathering. I think this product was not made for being lathered, as the reviews posted above state.

You just scoop some with your fingers and apply directly to wet (or pre-shave oiled) face. Best bang for the buck in my opinion, hard to get something as good for the price. And very useful when you are in a hurry and have no time for building a proper lather!

The stuff will not lather, but with that said, I find it wonderful when used with the Arko shave stick. Arko produces a great lather as it is, but sometimes it dryes in areas befor I get there. If I put the Arko on my face, some American Crew in a bowl and swirl my brush through it a few times, then lather my face, it produces a very thick lather that will not dry out. You should try it out.
