I absolutely adore the 1957 Chevy Bel Air.
If I had my choice; it would be red with cream fins!

The Checker was my father's dream car ... he said it was the most comfortable and solidly built car ever made, as attested to by the millions of miles wracked up by Checker taxi cabs. And the drab ugliness of the Checker fit his style perfectly.

He had to settle for a Volvo instead ... but it didn't come anywhere near his idea of a solid, industrial strength machine.

The Checker and the Volvo 240 both appeal to me... they're both just honest trasportation. They're just cars, not fashion statements, and built to last. There's nothing like them now.

Top speed of 125 mph.
Faster and better handling than a Corvette, T-Bird or any Chrysler product.
