Is the alum in the Speick AS effective? What are your thoughts on this aftershave?

Very soothing for a splash. I'm not sure if it's the Alum or other stuff that's in it but I'll hopefully never be without a bottle.

It is the best splash I've ever used, very soothing stuff!
LOVE Speick Splash. It has all kinds of wholesome goodness within.
I'm pretty sure I can feel a difference between Speick and other aftershave splashes without alum. Speick has a nice tightening effect. I would use it every day if it weren't for the scent.
