Alternating creams & soaps

newbie here--- How many peeps alternate soaps and shave creams?

I am ordering 3 soaps from mama bears (mandarin ice/basil and lime/cedarwood and lemon) plus an awakenings shave stick for travel

have Body shop MAca root cream and Zirh's --- Awaiting first DE EJ safety razor--:w00t:

cheers all:thumbup1:

I may use a cream a couple of times a month, but it is whatever strikes me as being good that day as I stumble out of bed.

I'm mainly a soap guy(again!) having gone through my cream fascination stage. However, when it's really hot, Proraso comes out. Since this is Musgo May, I have been using that. My C&E Sweet Almond oil is used on special occasions only. I grab the Speick when I realize Zi haven't shown it any love in a while and then the AOS Lemon or Lavender speak up. If I am in a hurry, Cremo comes to the rescue.

So in actuality, I do not rotate back and forth- I shave with 'just'; just whatever I am in the mood for @ that time. now that I think about it, I haven't touched the Palmolive in a loooooooooooooong time.

I rarely use the same cream or soap two days in a row. I don't consciously alternate between cream and soap but it usually works out I use each 3 or 4 times a week.

Did you just say 'peeps'?

Anyway, yeah I sometimes alternate soaps and creams though I'm down to about only 4 creams at the moment and probably won't buy any again (except Proraso of course). :001_smile

It depends on my mood. I'm primarily a soap guy, but keep a tube of Bigelow around. Sometimes, the Bigelow is just right. As soon as I have a free day to hit a local shop, I'm planning to get a couple more creams, probably a Trumper's or Truefitt or two. What I like about the soaps is that they can last a really long time - it took me over a year to kill a puck of Cade.

Just whichever suits me when I get out of the shower. If I'm in a bit of a hurry, I definitely lean more to the cream, though. Although being in a hurry kinda kills my whole reason for shaving with a DE--to slow down and enjoy the process.

Almost exclusively soaps, with the occasional cream just for a change. I mostly use the creams for super lather with my glycerin soaps.

It all depends on the day. Which product I feel like using at the time. I do have a system though. Well, kind of something like a system actually. As I am currently in "deplete mode" instead of "acquire mode" I try to focus on one soap or cream until it has gone to graveyard. Seeing how I am not able to go more than a few days using only one product I will add a one-off into the mix every few days.

Doesn't make a difference. Why obsess over the format of a product? It's the quality/scent that makes the biggest difference.

I started with creams. They're easy for a beginner to lather even without a good brush. Now, I generally use soap at least 5 days a week. I think my creams miss me, but I just can't get the same balance of slickness and cushion with creams. After I finish the 3 creams I have, I don't think I'll restock.

I started out using creams and have gravitated to soaps. That seems to be the general progression.

Using soaps is more fun. 'Pucks' and 'rounds' are more fun than 'tubs.' My puck of provence sante fits perfectly into my vintage hull pottery old spice mug, it is uniquely pleasurable whippin up a lather with this setup and a nice brush.

Shave sticks are fun too. Rub generously all over your beard and go to town!
