Almost unknown Austrian Lather Bomb HASLINGER Honey

I use this soap for several years but now I want to describe it and my first impressions too. I guess it´s almost unknown in the US.
Poor looking package, was a little bit disappointed, but after unwrapping it...BOOM ! Intense Honey fragrance at its best. The puck is hard, don´t even think about trying Badger Silvertip to lather it.
I use synthetic Fibre brushes and I get the most creamy rich lather I ever got from a soap. The blade glides, the thick lather protects and moistures the skin.
The most agressive safety razor IMO - Dr. Dittmar nr. 666 can´t cut my skin altought it´s trying really hard to do it.
The price is almost ridiculous, about 5 $.

I've got a puck of that here but have not used it yet. I sure do love the scent. I will be trying it soon, though, as my current mission is to try every one of the soaps and creams that I have at least 3 times (I had 24 that I had not used, now down to 15).

I think if it were $5 in the US, it would be a lot more popular. I paid $10 for my puck at RoyalShave.com

I love my Haslinger soaps - they are a hidden gem and totally underrated! They produce a ridiculously rich lather with minimal effort.

I only have the Haslinger marigold, but it is truly an excellent soap--terrific lather, easy to use. +1 on Haslinger as a hidden gem.

If you don't include the weight, value is unknown. Is it $5 for 150gr puck or $5 for 40gr puck?

Thanks for the review. I always wanted to try them but remember vaguely the cost was a bit too high. I will definitely include one when on sale next time.

Edited to add info: price here is $9 for 60gr puck. That is the reason I have not tried it yet since it comes to $18 for 120gr.
This is not the first good review of this soap I read so it must be a hidden gem indeed.

You are right, no weight - unknown value. All Haslinger pucks are 60 gr. The puck is very hard and you get so much lather with such a small load on the brush. My last one reached for more than an year by daily shaving.

I guess the shipping Austria - USA raises the price from 5 to 10 $. Too bad, the soap is just amazing, especially for winter with its warm honey fragrance.

That's what I was talking about. Great value indeed and even at six months it would still make it as a bargain.
Thanks again for your review.

How do you folks compare the Haslinger soaps to others in terms of shave and face-feel? Klars? MdC? Mikes? D.R. Harris? Others?

So true! Everywhere I read such bombastic reviews about generic soaps with bombastic names (best example Crabtree & Evelyn´s Nomad or Sienna) and nothing about
Haslinger "Cinderella" Honey.

Well John, this is the 65.000$ question. IMHO the feeling is almost unique because Haslinger lather is very sticky/elastic. Washing it down from your face it´s a nice piece of work.
It just sticks. It´s hard to describe, you got to try it.

My pleasure to write the review. I´m glad to share my experince with you guys.
I´ve tried from Haslinger also Coconut, Sandalwood, Seagrass. They are not bad at all, but Honey beats them.

Haslinger are certainly great soaps. They may be somewhat "under the radar" in the USA, but they rock anyway. Might just fire up a puck when I finish my Knize.

Funny coincidence, I just tried the aloe scent today. It's a very good soap, as others have said one of the richest lathers ever.

Finish your Knize? Tell me please how do you manage it. I´ve got one 2 years ago and seems endless to me.

I used the Hasslinger "Schafsmilch" (Sheep Milk) today, it contains lanolin. Great shave, lathers very easily. Smells very different from MWF. I received the Honey as a gift from my last Shavemac order, but haven't used it yet.

Hasslinger has quite a following on the German forums, solid performance, nice scents and good shaves. It doesn't get as much love (or shall I say hype?) as other bigger names out there.

The lack of hype is in part, I believe, related to relatively less availability here in the US. Only a select few vendors carry Haslinger as opposed to the plentiful amounts of other brands.
We were lamenting recently on another thread about the difficulties in obtaining Schafsmilch here!
