Almond Reccomendations

Hey all, I need help picking an almond scented soap.

So far I love the performance of Mike's, so naturally I would prefer a tallow based soap. I tried D.R. Harris almond cream, and got nasty burn from it every time, but I have to assume it isnt the almond oil, because at my house we bathe with almond scented bath soap.

So what are the best performing/best smelling? Also, if there is a good almond scented aftershave splash or balm I would like to try that as well.

Hopefully by the end of this all I will need to figure out is what to do with this paperweight (full tube of D.R Harris Almond cream) sitting on my desk!!

I would suggest several of the Italian almond soaps. My current favorite is ABCBA(Antica Barbieria Colla Bitter Almond) $DSC03906_zpsd63fb05b.jpg
Other Itaiian almond soaps I like are P. 160 Tipo Morbido, Cella, Valobra.

This is the first time I hear of this Colla. Could you post the ingredients list, please?

P.S. "Antica Barbieria" means "Old Barbershop" and Barbieria is an ancient Italian word, rarely used nowadays. The bowl looks very cool.

Could still be the almond, shaving creates more opening to sensitivity than bathing. There may also be a difference between fragrance vs natural almond.

Valobra is a really great tallow based soap, but it is a fairly mildly scented one. If you want a really intense almond I'd try something else, that said it is a great performing soap and if you have sensitive skin is very mild and moisturising!

@Gash, I assume you meant the Valobra shave stick? (the Valobra Almond Soft Shave Cream Soap appears to be all vegetable)

Has anyone used Vitos Classic shaving soap, Stirling Almond Creme Tallow, Dr Harris almond shaving soap, or RazoRock R-160?

I just finished off a stick of DR Harris Almond soap that I grated into a bowl. The scent actually smells like quinine (tonic water), not the almond scent of the Italian soaps. On top of that, mine had almost no scent and my intent was to just use it continuously until it was gone. The problem was that by the time I finished it off, it became a favorite and now I plan on buying a full puck.

Cella or P.160, unfortunately P.160 is no longer made so the supply is drying up. RazoRocks R160 is nice and very similar to P.160

How would you compare the almond scents of Cella to DRH? I don't have either so I really don't have a point of reference. Do either of them have a nice warm, roasted almond scent? I keep reading Cella is a very sweet almond.

Ckang79 - the comparison couldn't be more different, Cella has an earthy almond scent typical of the Italian soft soap category, I find it disparates a bit when lathered and does not linger at all post shave. DRH Almond has no real almond scent to my nose but is more of a floral, eau de quinine scent, it's quite nice but not comparable to the Italian almond.
