All Dovo steels the same?

Guys, I have quite a few 5/8ths Dovo Best Value St8's which shave great but I was wondering if the carbon steel is the same as their high end 5/8ths Dovo's?

often wondered about that. new vs. old ect. has the steel changed over the years? if so, was it for better or worse?

As far as I understand, the higher end razor are a prettier blade and scales - same steel.

I have a "vintage 1985" Dovo Astrale. I liked it so much I bought another Astrale. The newer one was different; physical differences like an etched shank, not deeply engraved like the old. The gold wash was different too, less ornate, but shave was where I noticed the biggest difference. It may have been psychosomatic, but I did not like it as much as the older one, so I sold it. I don't know if the steel was different, but IMO, the shave was.

The Dovo Bergischire Lowe, Mammut and some other higher end razors are advertised at as Swedish Carbon Steel blades. The Dovo Best is reported as a Carbon Steel Blade, no mention of Swedish Steel.
