Alden Indy’s first post

Hello everyone, I just bought a pair of Alden Indy’s off of a gentleman that said they didn’t fit and Looking over the shoes I have a concern. There seems to be some sort of impression on one shoe that isn’t present on the other. It almost looks like a mark from where the shoe was suppose to be stitched or the leather was pressed. I paid under 300 for the shoes. What do you say guys, keep them, return them, or take it up with Alden for manufacturing defect.

You talking about the impression that runs around the stitching? That’s just from the sewing machine, it’s perfectly fine. Use them and love them, I have a pair of Indy’s that are over 5 years now they are just amazing.

These may have been Alden Factory Seconds. If Alden QC felt that the impression made on one shoe but not the other was a cause for concern, the shoes would be offered up as “Seconds” which may have slight blemishes or imperfections and are sold as a discounted rate.

Frankly, I had to look at the pictures several times to see the impressions on your shoes so I would echo the sentiment above and say don’t worry about it and enjoy.

Depends...

Were I wearing these as "dress casual" and don't intend to step on grass/dirt/gravel very often, I would return.
OTOH, if I intended to use them for a mix of work/casual, I'd keep them.

Considering how much they go for brand new you got a great deal. Like mentioned above you can’t really notice them.
