Aftershave Recommendations

Think I'm going to roll the dice on some Pinaud bay rum. I have some samples of Captain's Choice, and one of them is their bay rum. The wife seemed to like it fine, which I was kind of shocked of. Not because it is a bad scent, but it just doesn't strike me as a scent she would prefer.

At any rate, doing some searching, I've found that the Clubman variety doesn't necessarily smell like all bay rums, but from what I can find it's fairly popular and generally ranks pretty high.

So, given it's rather cheap in price, I think I may give it a go, as the cost of the gamble is reasonable. 🤞

Thanks again for all of the suggestions, which I will keep tucked away for my future AS purchase(s).

If you do, you might just think; “where has this been all of my life?” :)

For 1 & 2 and mostly 3, my go to that will last all day is Chiseled Face's Ghost Town Barber, very manly and spouse approved and has a strong menthol kick -- it normally sells in the mid to high teens but considering that it lasts all day kinda negates that. The other would be either vintage Avon Spicy or modern Old Spice (cue the cries of heresy, but I have both modern and vintage OS and the modern is just a bit more fresh, versus the floral of the vintage).

Went with the Clubman Bay Rum. It is priced right, and I like it, but to me has a bit of a cinnamon like smell to it. Which looking at the ingredients list, seems to make sense. Reading through reviews, I really had expected more of a clove dominant scent.

My wife hasn't said either way if she likes it or not, but then again I haven't asked her yet either. Lol.

Hi, Hak! Please share more about the Wars AS range, as these are so cheap that tend to go under my radar. I find them in the European online store makeup.XX (makeup.bg, in my case). Is this some socialist-time iconic brand, as it seems to me? Thank you!

Hi!
I don't know more than Wars classic is a really nice woody AS.
I bought it from a Polish dealer on ebay some years ago.
I have heard ppl say Wars Sport is a nice fragrance as well, but without the same longevity.
