After shave balms

Just wondered if there is a nice non alcohol after shave balm or the like that will give me that nice moisturizing effect I get when I shave with institute Karite shave soap?

Thanks

I don't know if the soap you use relates to the AS or vice versa. I tend to use l'Oreal balm most of the time. Whatever soap I use, applying this AS feels good.

I don't routinely use a balm but when I need it I reach for the Nivea. It gives a nice moisturizing effect and it is available just about everywhere.

All things considered NIVEA's pretty darn good. I have a homemade aftershave I use, that's good in any weather, and soothes my face no matter how bad my shave was. It's also good as a daily moisturizer.

I've never used IK, so I don't know what it smells like, but Barclay Crocker allows you to make your own custom scented balm. I ordered a sample of Rose/Waves/Woodsman and it came out amazing.

For balms, I like Pre de Provence. Its a very soothing balm, with a light sage/cedar scent. It has shea butter so it is very moisturizing.

Just used a sample of AOS AS balm the other day and its good but I cant afford it so I use Avon Wild Country AS conditioner when I feel I need some moisturizer.

I had been using the Institute Karite shave soap but wanted to try the new DR Harriss windsor shave soap. I heard it doesnt leave your face wuite like the Institute Karite so I was looking for an ASB to use after that would give me that Institute Karite feel.

IMHO.... Considering price/value/effectiveness: Nivea (revitalizing, soothing, sensitive) just can't be beat. I still use Afta and find it to ne very good but you have to like the Skin Bracer scent.

Nivea Sensitive...just amazing. It's hard to believe something so cheap can out perform most of the products out there, but this does.

Use unrefined shea butter with any after shave you have. Take both in your hand and start rubbing your hands together, then apply it to your face:thumbup:
Very moisturizing!

+1 on the Nivea Sensitive;
plus i've been reading about alcohol/paraben-free Gilbert Henry Bay Rum ASB and think for the cooler weather this will be a must try for me. apparently 15% off deal listed in our "shopping and deals" section.

My primary AS balm is Baxter (of California). Has menthol, no alcohol and plenty of moisturizers...It leaves your face feeling awesome. I highly recommend it.

+1. The Baxter of California ASB is moisturizing but not greasy - works well with my oil-prone skin type. My one minor concern about this product is the parabens listed in the ingredients.

Without a doubt the best that I have tried is L'Occitane balms. They sell a sampler with L'Occitan and Cade scents for $20ish. Blows Nivea out of the water. Not even close.

Goes on on and my face sucks it in, smells great, and my skin literally improves with every use. I won't go without it.

Neutrogena Sensitive Skin Post Shave Balm over the Nivea, both have low alcohol, but my skin feels much better with the Neutrogena. Both are easy to find in the states. For somthing more spical take a look at Saint Charles Shave, there Bay Rum with a twist is killer.
