Straight razor shaving made me review my whole approach to wet shaving especially the importance of good pre shave prep.' Currently, after using soap or cream for initial passes I am enjoying the luxury of using shaving oil for my final pass, which, for me results in a closeness of shave better than that I ever achieved using DE razors
I have been shaving with a straight for 3 years. A couple of things I’ve learned: 1. Most of the time when I’ve blamed the razor for a poor shave, it turned out to be my technique; 2. The shaving soap/cream you use matters. I have discovered that even within offerings from one company, my straights like some soaps more than others.
